Nikita Suresh Dakhore, LLB, G.H. Raisoni University, Amravati.

India is a country where media play an important role in democracy, not only in present scenario, but a long way before the Independence also. Through we have the biggest flexible, democratic system in the world. Still questions arise each time Do media a threat or rescuers in the judiciary system.

Looking toward the history, media have a long history and are deeply rooted in the country’s colonial experiences under the British rule. And have contributed a very powerful and impactful role in the Independence.

In the past decade, we have witnessed rapid growth of media influence in the process of access to justice in various cases like corruption, rape, murder, sexual harassment, terrorist activities etc. But as we know with greatest power big responsibilities come under one roof. But does this really justify the statement with the present scenario of mass media.
