ABSTRACT

This research paper explores the importance of trade secrets in safeguarding the traditional food business. Traditional foods are an important part of many cultures and the recipes for these foods are often closely guarded secrets passed down through generations. In an increasingly competitive marketplace, traditional food businesses face the risk of their recipes being copied or stolen, potentially leading to a loss of market share and cultural heritage. This paper examines the legal framework for trade secret protection, as well as practical strategies for protecting trade secrets in the food industry. Through a combination of literature review and case studies, we explore the benefits and challenges of trade secret protection and make recommendations for traditional food businesses seeking to preserve their recipes and maintain their competitive edge. Ultimately, this paper highlights the importance of trade secrets in safeguarding the traditional food business and promoting cultural heritage in a globalized economy.
