Md. Tafsir Ashek, Department of Law and Human Rights, University of Asia Pacific

ABSTRACT

Bangladesh has a large amount of free space to offer adequate housing despite being one of the most densely populated countries in the world. But for the reason of lack of proper management and regulation, Bangladesh is facing problems ensuring housing for people. The troubles are not only for the public, but also for real estate developers, responsible authorities and the government. According to the data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics for fiscal year 2022-23, the real estate sector’s contribution to GDP was 7.93%. By finding exact problems through scrutinizing the laws and establishing effective measures, this percentage can increase. Also, the right of shelter for people can be protected. As a developing country, various factors act as obstructions, but the study focuses on overcoming the barriers with the hope of raising awareness, ensuring efficiency and establishing a better future.
