While terrorism is a subject which is equally wide and sensitive, the width to which it spreads renders it impossible to sweep all the dimensions as the part of a single paper. Nevertheless, this paper aims to touch upon the aspects which complicate the effects of a terrorist act and increase them manifold. These aspects include definitions of terrorism but lack of a universal one, the psychology and extremism involved in terrorism, the impact on the various legal systems due existing lacunae, and the consequences faced by affected states. The paper tries to reflect on world’s current positioning on the terrorism jurisprudence and the drawbacks embedded in it.
