ABSTRACT
Against the backdrop of rapid digital transformation, the use of algorithms, monitoring devices, and intelligent dispatch systems has enhanced logistics efficiency. At the same time, however, it has increased work intensity, prolonged workers’ state of connectivity, and blurred the boundaries between working time and rest periods. Meanwhile, Vietnamese law remains largely based on the traditional employment model and has yet to provide adequate protection for daily rest periods, waiting and standby time, the right to disconnect, the quality of rest breaks, and workers’ ability to have their working time recorded and to access relevant working-time data. Drawing on an examination of German law, this article analyses the impact of technology-driven management on the right to rest, identifies gaps in Vietnamese law, and proposes directions for legal reform aimed at ensuring the effective recovery of logistics workers in the digital environment.
Keywords: Rest periods; labour law; workers; right to disconnect.
