Role Of Law In Recent Agricultural Reforms Made In India

Sachhi Sinha, Banasthali Vidyapith

ABSTRACT

One of the most important factors regulating Indian Economy is that of Agriculture as more than half of our population was as well as is based on it for living specially the rural areas. Agricultural sector has made such a place in people’s life that now it has directly started affecting the affairs of their life, thus it has became necessary to provide the farming community with enough facilities by which they can gain profitable prices in respect their produce. In this manner the farming committee will remain satisfied and at the same time people depended on them would also be able to carry on with their respective work without any sort of hindrance. Well before Independence, it was the main concern to keep a check upon the prices of the produce which were further meant to be supplied as food to the consumers and as agro raw materials for the industries. However after independence tables turned and now the main concern was to protect the remunerative benefits of the farmers. Farmers were starting to witness physical losses on their fields caused due to the destruction of crops and on the other hand they were met with monetary losses caused due to low incomes arising out of their yields. All these factors together have thereby made the survival of farming committee difficult, hence the government has made an agenda to curb this problem and double the farmer’s income by increasing productivity, cutting down costs and so on.
