ABSTRACT


Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act 2005: An act to establish the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority, which will control water resources in the state of Maharashtra. Facilitate and ensure prudent, equitable, and sustainable water resource management, allocation, and usage, and set rates for water use for agriculture, industrial, drinking, and other purposes, as well as matters related to or incidental thereto.


The Authority shall, in accordance with State Water Policy, promote and execute appropriate water conservation and management methods throughout the State, according to the MWRRA Act, Chapter III, section 12 (4).According to section 11 (q) of the Work, "the authority shall act to encourage efficient use of water and to prevent water wastage, and to define acceptable use requirements for each Category of Use," MWRRA will also promote water efficiency.Jal Shakti Abhiyan and Namami Gange are some of the initiatives taken by the Government.
