ABSTRACT

This paper addresses the urgent need for countries to introduce mandatory environmental laws, drawing on the discussions and outcomes of the COP28 conference held in Azerbaijan. As the global climate crisis intensifies, the document highlights the vital role of international cooperation in combating environmental degradation and promoting sustainability. It emphasizes that strong legal frameworks are necessary to promote environmental protection, facilitate accountability and ensure compliance with international climate commitments. By analyzing the implications of the COP28 outcomes, this study argues for a unified approach to environmental legislation that not only addresses immediate challenges but also promotes long-term resilience to climate change, thereby protecting ecological integrity for future generations.
