Neha Srivastava, Pursuing PhD Doctorate degree programme from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University

ABSTRACT

India as part of the overall regulatory framework for Foreign Direct investment (FDI) in India, in addition to India's domestic FDI laws. The researcher aims to clarify this concept at the beginning, which examines India's current Investment Agreements (IIA) framework. With the adoption of the new Model Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) 2015, India is undergoing a regulatory shift in terms of its IIA programme. Consequently, it has already terminated 54 BITs and plans to renegotiate existing BITs in accordance with the 2015 Model BIT1. In light of the current situation, the research will study and examine India's IIA Framework solely in terms of the Model BIT 2015, with IIAs.
