Trademark Violations In E-Commerce

ABSTRACT:

The modern internet world has given us a wide range of opportunities to explore the internet world concerning all aspects of our lifestyle, it doesn’t leave our business world aside. The nature of being boundaryless helps businesses to reach each nook and corner of the world and the same makes it a boon, on the other hand, of considering the faceless online network as coequal to a business concern and carrying the transaction without much identification and authentication left us on the bane part. The characteristics of the technology being anonymous and intangible gave a path to various illegal activities to deceive the consumers at large, and one of such kind is Trademark Violations i.e. riding upon the goodwill and reputation of reputed or known brands. This paper addresses such trademark violations and the available measures in regulating such activities on online platforms.
