US-China Geopolitics: A Cold-War Repeat

Meher Mansi, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore

ABSTRACT

The world is rearranging itself in untold ways politically, geographically, environmentally. Now more than ever we need all the help we can beget. Nevertheless, the globalisation and international relations seem to be a vanity in this all so war ridden world. Wars stalk the lands and seas of the world. In such plethora of crises is one disguised cold war making its way. It is not going to be as bloody and stealthy as the first one but it will cost the world some of its resources and most of its disruption will affect the connectivity we all take for granted. If the situation escalates there are high chances of a Cuban missile crisis repeat as both the nation states involved are nuclear arsenals yet again. So this article turns to explore the solutions given by international relations theories. It examines whether the international relations theories propounded ages ago, when the globalised world did not exist, are still pertinent.

Keywords: classical realism, cold war, liberalism, micro-chip war, global order, geopolitical dialogue, international relations.
