Women Empowerment Through Social Media: A Legal View

ABSTRACT

The present world is technological world or social media world, with the growing time every single human being is making use of social media. Social media platforms no doubt help in connecting the people globally but it’s role can be seen in empowering the women, in strengthening the position of women at par with man and removing the various stereotypes. Social media provides the platform where a human being specially a women can express their views freely, it opened a way for sharing ideas, it created an online business or work from job opportunity for women and many more areas for women to become independent.

This article concentrates on the way social media is altering how women are perceived in society and what opportunities social media offers. Finally, it is discussed how media contributed to the promotion of women's rights, the formulation of laws, policies for women, gender equality, and legal provisions dealing with the difficulties faced on social platforms. Additionally, various negative aspects of social media participation and some difficulties that women face on social media platforms are also presented.
