ABSTRACT
Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to exploit individuals for labor or commercial sex acts. Annually, millions are trafficked worldwide, including in the United States. This crime affects all communities, and victims can be of any age, race, gender, or nationality. Traffickers use violence, manipulation, or false promises of jobs or relationships to lure victims. Language barriers and fear often prevent victims from seeking help, making it a hidden crime. This research aims to analyze the types of trafficking, the laws protecting women and children, and the effects of sexual, physical, and mental abuse. The study uses qualitative methods, including surveys of 200 participants selected by convenience. Both primary and secondary sources, such as books and articles, were used. The main tool for analysis is graphing survey results. Independent variables include age, gender, education, and occupation, while dependent variables assess government measures' effectiveness against trafficking, perceptions of trafficking for sexual exploitation, consequences of child trafficking, and manipulation tactics used by traffickers. Findings indicate that most participants recognize the severe abuse involved in trafficking and are aware of human and child trafficking issues.
