Artificial Intelligence And Human Rights: Legal Implications And Challenges In India

ABSTRACT

Technology is evolving day-by-day and with usage of it, the concern of human rights comes in. Technology such as Artificial Intelligence have made the human work easier and in near future, it might substitute each and every work done by a human increasing the efficiency and effectiveness. At present, the Covid-19 restrictions are easing, but use of technology and Big Data is increasing. The human rights violation in a global concern. Many countries, across the globe, have adopted laws and regulations to keep in check that the Artificial Intelligence and its use does not violate the prevailing human rights. In India, when we talk about human rights, right to privacy and discrimination are two key rights with respect to Big Data and technology. There is no specific legislation in India for the same but certain Acts and Bills such as Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 have been passed to ensure the privacy is not hampered. In this Article, the author discusses the Artificial Intelligence and its evolution and how it violates the human rights. The author has also analyzed the new data protection bill passed and stated the challenged faced with the use of Artificial Intelligence and the solution for the same.
