The Covid 19 pandemic has engulfed the entire world and India had to bear the brunt of the same as well. The disease caused by a novel coronavirus first discovered in Wuhan1, spread so rapidly across the globe that the World Health Organization (WHO) had to declare it a pandemic on 11 March 20202.

The infection spreads via social contact and hence, lockdowns and restrictions had to be announced to promote social distancing. The pandemic affected everyone in India, from almost all walks of life.
