INTRODUCTION: BRIEF HISTORY & EVOLUTION OF COPYRIGHT


The expression of copyright as per the black dictionary of law that clearly says that is right in literary property as recognized and sanctioned by positive laws. Which is an incorporeal and intangible right conferred to the author and originator related to artistic or literary produce. In he had spent for particular and specified time or duration with the sole and exclusive weightage of multiple copies. As per the oxford dictionary is the absolute right given by law for particular stretch of years to the author, composer and lot many to publish, sell and print the copies his/her original work. So, in the nutshell approach to copyright as per the law basically provides the exclusive right to the creator or owner of literary, dramatic musical and related to the variety of such other works. As per the Indian context it all started with the statute that was applicable as the “Indian Copyright Act of 1847”. All such statutes much in operation since 1847 till 1911.Although it was the British colonial era in India when British administration much prevalent in Indian sub-continent. The law for copyright during the phase of 1911 was modified in England by the name of Imperial Copyright Act ,1911 and further with certain changes and slight modifications were made to introduce in India.Finally, it called as the Copyright Act of 1914.According to this act Copyright infringement was associated with penalties considered as a criminal offence. When it grown and came into public conscience and rights and obligation of author gained much importance. Copyright is the integral part of Intellectual Property Rights regime, with the changing nature of time, it is pervasive in itself in almost every part of the world. The escalating and holistic approach gave its importance to another frame of dimensions in the world. The increasing technological development and keeping in view of the changes in time. In the field of songs, music, acting, drama, literary work, printing a huge change and demand has been seen in last 100 years as well as on the prevention of their misuse. Many initiatives were taken on the prevention of abuse so that the person could be appreciated for his hard work on the basis of the first right as owner.1
