ABSTRACT

The objective of studying the intersection of "Copyright and Social Media: Addressing Infringement and User Rights" is multifaceted and involves several key objectives. First, it aims to give an insight into how copyright law and the dynamic nature of communication platforms interact. In this context, the question of how traditional copyright principles apply to the creation, sharing and dissemination of content on social media, where user generated content often blurs the lines of ownership and originality, will be examined. Second, the study aims to identify and understand the problems of copyright infringement that exist on social media platforms. The research is intended to throw light on the intricate situation of copyright holders, content creators and platform operators by identifying the main causes of infringement in today's Digital Age through an assessment of the efficiency of existing legislative frameworks and enforcement mechanisms. Additionally, it seeks to balance the protection of copyright holders' rights with ensuring that users have a legitimate interest in accessing, creating and sharing content on social networking sites. This investigation examines the tensions between copyright enforcement measures and principles of freedom of expression, fair use or cultural exchange in a digital culture. Furthermore, the study analyses the legal framework governing copyright on social media platforms and considers the impact of copyright enforcement measures on user rights in order to inform policy discussions and regulatory approaches. The paper aims at providing practical recommendations to stakeholders, facilitating collaboration, transparency and accountability in the field of copyright infringement, while protecting user rights and promoting innovation and creativity online, through empirical evidence, case studies and examples.

In this paper the scope of copyright infringement on social media, including the unauthorized reproduction, distribution and modification of intellectual property rights, is checked. The significance of supporting creativity, expression and participation on the Internet is also presented in this report which deals with user rights issues in digital culture. Through an analysis of the legal framework governing copyright on social media platforms and the effectiveness of current enforcement mechanisms, this paper enlightens the need for a balanced approach that respects both copyright holders and users.
