ABSTRACT

This paper draws its substance from the recent events in the arena of privatization of public sector undertakings and analysis of the effect it has and may have on its workers and their relationship with the industry. This paper is divided into 4 parts, the first one explains the concept of privatization, second part discusses the concept of industrial jurisprudence with a hint of impact on it due to privatization. Whereas the third part discusses the recent privatization of Air India and how it has affected industrial relations and jurisprudence. Finally, the fourth part discusses in brief the two deemed privatizations in the field of defense and petroleum.
