Sanjana Jagadeesha, BA LLB (Honors), LLM, University of Edinburgh (2020-2021)

ABSTRACT:

This paper highlights the criticisms against traditional criminological theories. Based on the critiques, the next section of this paper attempts to examine what feminist criminology brings on the table. Furthermore, the paper also attempts to investigate how this new dynamic discipline has progressed throughout these years. This paper illustrates a critical analysis whether feminist approach has made progress in shifting the agendas of criminological inquiry. While trying to answer this question, the author tries to conclude by stating that the feminist approach needs to reach the women in rural communities and underprivileged women.
