ABSTRACT
'Access to justice' might mean various things to different individuals. It may be accessed for some people by legal action, for others through protest, for other people through social media, etc. The public has faith in the justice system, but they are wary of going to court because of the system's procedural obstacles, delays, efficiency, formality, and expense of the proceedings, the backlog of cases, and the way courts and tribunals are organized and run. While acknowledging the significance of these challenges, it is necessary to have a wider perspective of what is meant by the phrase "access to justice “When examining the issue in terms of the specific needs of socially and economically disadvantaged people, it is important to take into account the variety of legal services that disadvantaged people may seek access to, the variety of services from which they seek legal assistance, and the preferred methods of resolution that they seek to employ. The probe will go farther than the formalities of the legal system. As the greatest means to seek justice, the legal system must be changed so that those who are less fortunate may.
