ABSTRACT

Unprecedented chances for innovation and knowledge sharing through the internet have been brought about by the unrelenting advancement of the digital age. But this technical progress has also brought up difficult problems, the most significant of which is online copyright infringement. With a focus on the changing landscape of digital piracy, the conceptual framework of copyright in the digital era, judicial perspectives, challenges faced, analytical insights, key findings, and recommendations for navigating the tricky terrain of internet copyright infringement, this abstract offers a thorough overview of the complex issues surrounding copyright violations online. An era where the internet acts as a global medium for the distribution of creative works has been brought about by the digital revolution. Despite being revolutionary, this democratization of content has resulted in an increase in copyright violations. Unrestricted availability of digital content has made it easier for illegal copies to be made, distributed, and shared, which presents problems for owners of copyrights. This summary summarizes a thorough investigation of these topics with the goal of revealing the nuances that both define and muddle the concept of online copyright infringement. In order to fully appreciate the complex aspects of online copyright infringement, a strong conceptual framework must be established. Within this framework, the fundamental ideas of intellectual property rights, copyright law, and the dynamically changing online environment are all explored in detail. The digital domain presents intricacies including the indistinct boundaries between fair use and infringement, the revolutionary character of online content sharing platforms, and the significant influence of developing technology on conventional copyright regulations. This abstract emphasizes the significance of comprehending the conceptual foundations of copyright in the digital age, laying the groundwork for a thorough examination. The legal framework must address territoriality in the digital sphere and jurisdictional issues while traversing the conceptual terrain. Digital content, in contrast to tangible items, easily crosses national borders, hence established legal standards need to be reevaluated. This essay seeks to investigate how the theoretical underpinnings of copyright law adjust—or encounter difficulties in adapting—to the international scope of the internet.

It also looks into how these modifications affect the effectiveness of legal remedies for online copyright violations. Contextualizing the legal remedies to online copyright infringement requires the input of judicial perspectives. Around the world, courts struggle with instances that challenge the bounds of conventional copyright norms, putting the flexibility of the current legal system to the test. This study analyzes the strategies used by courts in various jurisdictions as it looks at significant court cases and precedent-setting rulings pertaining to copyright infringement on the internet. It also takes into account the difficulties the judiciary faces in keeping up with the quickly advancing technologies, emphasizing the necessity for adaptable and progressive legal interpretations.
