Sanjay Nair S, Jindal Global Law School

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to understand how the adopted children under the juvenile justice act are not treated equally because they do not get to enjoy the same right of inheritance as the natural born children with exception of Hindu personal law. Hence this paper will highlight a void and lack of uniformity. Through various analyses of personal laws and the uniform characteristic of juvenile justice act calls for a uniform amendment in the act which should override the personal laws in order to achieve equality for adopted children.
