Labour Laws And Changing The Environmental Accountability Along With Work

Keerthana S, LLB (Hons), Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU)

ABSTRACT

Traditional labour laws haven't fully addressed the environmental impact of work. This paper explores the growing need to integrate environmental accountability into labour laws. It examines the areas where these two areas overlap, such as worker health and safety in relation to environmental hazards. The paper discusses the negative impacts of climate change on occupational health and suggests ways to adapt labour laws to address these challenges. Additionally, it explores how to identify gaps in existing laws and proposes strategies for suggesting changes, including promoting sustainable work practices, worker education, and supply chain accountability.

Keywords: Labour laws, environmental accountability, occupational health, climate change, sustainable work practices, worker education, supply chain, environmental hazards, policy reform.
