Dr. Hina Gupta, IFTM University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh

ABSTRACT

As an Indian, we can never be detached from our customs, ceremonies, traditions and usages. From the birth, it is taught to us to follow them if we want a better life. It is considered that they have been made by our forefathers in a very thoughtful manner. But in this 21st century, Are we doing right by doing so?, Should we not think one more time on the same? Hindu marriage is an institution to solemnize marriage between a male and a female by which they can procreate healthy children for the establishment of a civilized and strong society. For that purpose, it is necessary for us not to promote and execute marriages in a degree of prohibited relationship [as also mentioned under the section 3(g)] of The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. Such marriages are not only threat for relationships but they may work as a termite for the roots of the society. In many reports and researches it has been mentioned that a child from such marriages may struggle with many mental and physical health issues, which could be a strong reason to establish a week society.
