ABSTRACT
In this present 21st century, there have been various developments in multiple sectors promoting welfare and well-being of people and society at large. The concerns of vulnerable sections in society have been a common aspect for discussion which has raised a number of questions concerning health of women, workforce participation and so on. Menstrual leave policies which are structured based on the institution and pattern of society, provides an outlook on gender inclusivity, and enhance the scope for the overall development of society. Such initiatives will help in eradicating certain social stigmas associated with women which are existing in the society. The need to accept the right to menstrual leave as a significant health right of individuals and recognizing the same in educational institutions and other organizations is discussed in this study. The need for acknowledging the social issues and adopting the global policies to tackle those challenges can be derived from the existing systems in different countries. The applicability of menstrual benefit policies in India is analyzed and compared with other countries who have come forward with such spectacular initiatives. In this study, the researcher focuses on the legal frameworks and challenges concerning menstrual leave policies in Spain, China, Indonesia, and India. The involvement of state governments and authorities in regulating and maintaining the social systems based on the changing circumstances can be analyzed by comparing the systems across the globe.
