Mental Health Legislations: A Long Way To Go

ABSTRACT


Mental illness is not new to India. They have been prevalent since the Vedic ages, and our ancestors have come up with certain concepts to deal with such issues. As time passed, we have ignored these concepts and stigmatized mental illness. This article aims to analyses how the legislations related to mental health and opinion about mental illness have evolved.
