This study seeks to understand how the pandemic’s effect on the demand-supply chain defines and alters forthcoming policy changes by governments. It also aims to address the issue of nurse shortage domestically in light of policy changes.
The following factors are analysed. i) the basic framework of nursing recruitment in India emphasizing the legal system; ii)the role played by nursing education in equipping them with skillsets helping graduates choose their career paths i.e. the propensity to seek domestic or abroad jobs comparatively; iii)whether the current government views nurse migration positively or negatively and iv)how the previous policy regimes have affected this arena.
The findings from data analyzed will be used to suggest changes in policy and legal reforms that need to be made to stabilize the supply of nurses.
