INTRODUCTION

“Content is King. Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting. When it comes to an interactive network such as the Internet, the definition of ‘content’ becomes very wide. No company is too small to participate. One of the exciting things about the Internet is that anyone can publish whatever content they can create. Over time, the breadth of information on the Internet will be enormous, which will make it compelling...” --- Bill Gates

Meaning of OTT (Over the top)

Over The Top, or OTTs, are the young, up-and-coming competitors in the market for content broadcasting and exhibition. It refers to the services or programmes that can be accessed via the web without the need for any hardware support. This is used to describe web-based applications, content, or services that operate "over the top" of networks and are accessed by people online. By avoiding the traditional operator's network and working directly with customers, OTT platforms offer services to end users.

OTT refers to services such as films and television shows that are delivered via the internet by content owners, broadcasters, distributors, and other entities such as production firms, broadcasting channels, and so on.
