ABSTRACT


India is a country that has witnessed an influx of various religions. India is known for its unity in diversity. This research paper is significant as it clearly breaks down the impact of different religions on the development of the concept of secularism in India. The religious laws have been mentioned in our Constitution, and it has been framed keeping in mind the secular nature of the people of India. But in recent days, we have seen there are several unholy elements that are trying to hurt the secular fabric of our great motherland. This research paper is significant as it clearly explains the religious laws of the country and provides relevant case laws to explain the rules in detail. Often we get confused between the word religion and morality and their intermingling. Well, the answer depends from person to person, but the research paper is significant since it uses a survey of a very reputable institution in order to come to a conclusion. The report also explains various instances where some social reformers have changed the definition of morality and set a new direction for society. The research paper is significant as it can change the viewpoint of the reader.
