ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research paper is to discuss the ‘Rules of Honour and Dishonour in the presentment of Negotiable Instruments. The law relating to Negotiable Instruments is not the law of one country (or) one nation. It consists of ‘certain principles of equity and usages of trade which provide general convenience to regulate the dealing of merchants in all the commercial countries of the civilised world.’ This paper discusses the characteristics of the Negotiable Instruments, the rules of honour and dishonour in presentment of Negotiable Instruments, loopholes in laws if any, in this reference.
