Sexual Offences - Harassment: Me Too Movement And Its Legal Consequences

Abstract


This paper specifically deals with the situations of the women dealing with sexual offences in the current period time in India. Committing the offences against women is the most frequent problems upholding the cases across the world. Sexual offences, in general, can be described as various types of touch to the body of the women. In other words, sexual offending can be deprived as the different offending crimes against a Women but with this, it came with the majority of issues regarding the sexual offences. With all to this, we will have a productive study for the concept of the sexual offences. Firstly, we will go through an overview regarding this concept and further will discuss the various kinds of sex offences which leads to humiliation and harassment and an outrage to the modesty of women. While going through the current scenario amongst the data of the conceptual and the reality of the sexual offences against a Women in India. The data which is provided in the report is taken from the various sites and is an aggregate percentage of the victims who are dealing with the sexual offences in the country. Some of the landmark cases will be given through this report of the related sexual offences which will be further describing the provisions regarding the sexual offences and the crime committed. And amongst those some of the amendment regarding these provisions will be discussed. Further, we will commence to the me too movement in India which lead to bring up the story of many women dealing with sexual offences. We will learn about the commencement of this movement and how it was implemented. Going ahead to the conclusion section, it is been discussed the part of the accused if the accused starts thinking for a while about the victim than that crime will not occur.
