ABSTRACT


The purpose of this study is to find out the current state of business ethics in seven major industries business India especially, IT/Software, Healthcare/Pharma, Education, Govt sector/ Public services, financial services, consulting services, and manufacturing sectors. Together with Information about the current state of business ethics in these areas, the study describes reasons for unethical behavior, existing lack of ethical rules, deficiencies in the system of corporate governance in the aforementioned sectors, obstacles in the implementation of the code of conduct/ethics and find out if there is one Unethical behavior that is specific and very common in every industry. Also, this study is to find out if it has an effect on ethical behavior with the principle of corporate governance. This study aims to provide a comprehensive list of how strengthening the role of corporate governance in Indian companies can reduce the prevalence of unethical behavior.
