Edward Jhotham I, Ph.D. Scholar (Full-time), PG & Research Department of History, C. Abdul Hakeem College (Autonomous)

ABSTRACT

The Constitution of India is built on the certain foundations of fundamental values. The mission and vision of our founding fathers are reflected in the Preamble, the Fundamental rights, and the Directive Principles of State Policy. The Fundamental Rights are enshrined in Part III of our constitution from Articles 12 to 35. It is rightly called as the Magna Carta of India. The Fundamental Rights guaranteed by our Constitution have been evidently proved to be an exemplary of its kind. Though this part of the Indian Constitution was derived and largely influenced by the US Constitution, the former is better and also more outstanding than the latter in terms of consistency, clarity, and enforcement.
