ABSTRACT

Ensuring the safety and integrity of the food supply chain is paramount to public health and consumer confidence. The Prevention of Food Adulteration Act (PFAA) is a pivotal regulatory framework aimed at safeguarding public health by combating food adulteration. This research paper offers a comprehensive examination of the PFAA, tracing its historical development, key provisions, and enforcement mechanisms.

Through an in-depth analysis of legal provisions and case studies, the paper evaluates the efficacy of the PFAA in addressing contemporary challenges posed by food adulteration practices. Additionally, it explores the role of regulatory agencies, industry stakeholders, and consumer awareness in ensuring compliance and enforcement of the act.

Moreover, the paper discusses the evolving landscape of food adulteration and identifies emerging trends and innovations to enhance the effectiveness of regulatory measures. By critically assessing the strengths and limitations of the PFAA, this paper aims to inform policymakers, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders about opportunities for strengthening food safety regulations and protecting public health.
