Virtual Courts And Access To Justice - A Step Forward For The Indian Judiciary?

Gaurav Yadav, BBA LLB, Northcap University

ABSTRACT

The concept of a visible court has become the backbone of the legal world and has influenced Indian courts and the judicial system during the Covid-19 epidemic. In fact, in the current context, any victim can access justice in all corners of the world. Visual courts can be defined as a court system in which all documents and procedures relating to an ongoing trial can be recorded electronically and disputes can be heard by videoconferencing. While a national ban was imposed, it was clearly not possible for the courts to operate and proceed with literal proposals and trials. But either way, justice would be served because “Delayed justice is denied”. The epidemic was a major threat to India's justice system in the first place. All the courts have stopped working in addition to the serious backlog of cases that have crippled Indian judges. Therefore, the idea of a court was adopted, when later, the Supreme Court (SC) gave a firm defense to its 'actual court framework', and realized that the institution's requirement was to ensure 'administration of justice', which would not disperse despite it. epidemic. This article focuses on the opportunities available and the challenges facing the virtual courts in India.
