ABSTRACT

According to Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998 of India, “Bio-Medical Waste” means any waste, which is generated during the diagonals, treatment, or immunization of human beings or animals or in the research activities pertaining thereto or in the production or testing of biologicals. In this chapter you will get the Information on hazardous and non-hazardous waste what are the different categories of Bio-Medical waste? Why is the need for bio-medical waste management? Why should these be used these colourful bags Increasing amounts of bio-medical waste lead to health issues and problems that need to segregate? Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules 2016 highlight the segregation of Bio-Medical waste and divided it into 10 categories and 4 colour coding. The Bio-Medical Waste after the guidelines by the Bio-Medical Waste Management 2016 waste started improving the segregation, transportation, and disposal methods to decrease the environmental pollution regarding’s problems. Uttarakhand is blessed with the Himalayan Mountains, rivers, parks, and attractions on the Chardham route that have left a heaping mound of garbage which include Bio-Medical Waste. The covid-19 pandemic has created additional work in Bio-Medical waste management in Uttarakhand as well as in the whole world. Human role in the field of responsibility during the traveling to the mountains.
