ABSTRACT

Society itself is the center of gravity of all legal development. Society is changing faster so the concept of cruelty changing accordingly. Women were considering weaker section since long time; this reaction leads to women empowerment. Women empowerment and favorable law in favor of women was earlier a shield but for many it become a sword. Some law changes in favor of women for their protection. But some women take them as sword against her husband and her in laws. The object of law is gender justice but it does not mean to empower one and diminish other gender. By this article, so many cases and conclusions drawn from the interpretation of cruelty by women has been discussed with the guideline of higher judiciary. The cause and the consequences of cruelty and the solution suitable for the problem is covered in this article. This research also covers the remedies aspect of cruelty.
