Protection Of Company’s Trade Secret In The Digital Era

ABSTRACT


Trade secret involves information that generally holds economic value and is usually kept as a secret by the companies to have a competitive advantage over other companies in the market. Trade secret is a protected by intellectual property rights. The trade secrets entails designs, recipes, strategies, manufacturing process and any such methods. Trade secrets are protected to protect the economic value that is associated with it and also to protect the interest of the holder of the trade secret. Trade secret can be considered as Confidential information that is protected by copyright. The trade secret in the era of digitalization is not safe. The easy access to information through circumvention and hacking is rampant, the trade secrets are stolen easily with the help of digital methods. The sharing of Confidential information is increasing day by day, where no data is safe over the internet platform. Any form of data is public in the internet for millions of people to access. This has been disastrous for trade secret. This research will deal with the impact of digitalization on trade secret and will try to determine the ways to protect and preserve trade secret from being made public through the use of digital platform and backhand
